Whilst formally we hold regular headteacher/principal meetings, beneath this is wealth of knowledge sharing by those who are the experts in their field including subject departments working together, Key stage 2 & 3 collaborating, SLT /Curriculum development, collaborative 6th form offer and expert support staff securing excellent services and value for money.
Formally, the Valley Learning Partnership is led by a Board of Trustees who bring a range of skill sets from a variety of settings including education and higher education (University of Huddersfield), health, finance and business.
The trustees share a common purpose of working to further the educational opportunities available to the young people of Calderdale and West Yorkshire and to supporting partner schools to maintain excellent standards.

Her job is varied and she enjoys working with young people, especially when it is possible to see how the work done may change their perceptions of Higher Education! Amanda says “Encouraging young people to enter into Higher Education through the work I do gives me a great sense of achievement”. In addition to the work she does at the university with schools and colleges, Amanda is the UK Vice Chair (Group Development) for HELOA (the professional association of staff in Higher Education who work in student recruitment, outreach and marketing) which allows her to keep up to date with current issues in the Higher Education sector and to liaise and collaborate with staff from various universities across the UK. Amanda has just completed the CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management & Leadership and is currenlty studying CMI Level 7 Strategic Management & Leadership.
Amanda’s role as a trustee of the Valley Learning Partnership allows her to input ideas from a Higher Education perspective and enables her to work collaboratively with all partners.
Outside work Amanda likes walking challenges, having undertaken the Yorkshire 3 Peaks a couple of times, the Ullswater Way and next years’ challenge is the Northumberland Coast Mighty Hike, if COVID restrictions allow it! Amanda has two boys who keep her very busy, particularly with their various sporting activities, in her spare time.
